Your Individual Development Plan

As an employee, your performance appraisal process will provide you with a formal opportunity to discuss your development needs with your line manager for the coming year. It is therefore important that your strengths and development needs are quickly identified so that you can be provided with the developmental opportunities to become fully competent in your role.

Development Solutions
Atos University offers three different development approaches:

  • Workplace:
    where you can select from a range of solutions which are there to help you learn about your role whilst doing your job.
  • Online:
    where you can gain access to eLearning courses that are currently available from external suppliers.
  • Classroom:
    where a range of instructor led courses are offered, either through our preferred suppliers or internally.

Evaluate Your Learning   
After you have undertaken a training or development activity, it is essential that you take time to evaluate whether you have addressed your development needs. This will also ensure that your line manager can evaluate the return on investment.  The learning undertaken is therefore evaluated at two levels.  First of all, the immediate impact of the learning event will be captured as soon as it is completed and is often done in the form of a questionnaire handed out by the course instructor.

Performance Appraisal   
All employees are expected to be able to demonstrate their professional development activities since their last appraisal in their performance appraisal.  You can find more information on Performance Appraisals on the People Site on Source.
